In Linkedin, a project Manager wrote about a work experience, which changed his perspective on hiring new employees.
He had to fill a few vacant spots in the growing establishment. Posting the job description, he received numerous applicants, with varying qualifications for the position.
First he easily choose candidates with the most experience and the best academic qualifications to fill positions.
He took a chance on a few applicants, who were not the most qualified for the position, their job experience was sub-par to other candidates. On paper, such applications would be immediately discarded.
He stated, “That for some reason, he took a chance on a few unqualified applicants.”
As the months passed, he realized that the applicants, he took a risk in hiring were diamonds in the rough. Productivity was up, moral increased as he noticed a sense of loyalty from those employees.
They turned out to be the most loyal, enthusiastic, caring employee in the organization. He took a great chance by hiring them, although they were not the most experienced nor qualified applicant for the position.
The favor of gainful employment granted to then, fully knowing that their application was not the strongest. Motivated them to excel in areas of gratitude, diligence, loyalty, trust and service. The manager nor the organization had ever experienced such dedication from employees.
He was so humbled by the experience, which compelled him to post and share his unique experience with other professionals on linkedin.
