Budding Entrepreneurs without Specialty Training
May this post find you in your most productive state of mind? I’m taking liberty to write this post to all Budding Entrepreneurs, Bloggers and Small Business Owners, who are primarily focused on growth through Internet Marketing.
“It is said that a Sales Career is the easiest profession to get into; and the most difficult to master”. Selling is an Artistic Science while Math and Music are Precise Science.
Computer Science is a precise science for individuals willing to pursue a scholastic degree. An Associates, a Bachelor’s, a Masters or a PhD Degree in Computer Science.
Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners, who endeavor to use Computer Science as a Marketing Strategy for their business, do so without a formal Scholastic Degree or Specialty Training as a Computer Programmer or a Web Developer.
US Business report states, that 28 Million new businesses were started in 2014, for the last 10 years this number has been steadily increasing. Outside the United States, we know that private and home based businesses are steadily on the rise also.
As I wrote this fact, I got to thinking. Of the 28 Million new businesses, how many of them pursued a formal scholastic training to aid them in their marketing strategy. Such a decision would be easier for a couple, one could go to school while the other pursues the business. Providing they could manage the tuition while starting the new business. Such an ambitious decision would profit them greatly in the future.
The Pride of Ownership and the Grid of Determination
For Entrepreneurs and Business Owners, the love and the pride of ownership in their own Business fills them with a joy which supersedes tremendous obstacles. This Joy is able to sustain then in times of difficulties, which challenge their path to bring them to remembrance of the fact, that they as Entrepreneurs are taking on a huge challenge without; formal Scholastic or Specialty Training in Computer Science. This is the same grid of determination, which allowed many renowned successful Business Owners of the past, who never had a formal Education to be so very successful in business.
In every phase of Learning, we are introduced to new terms and phrases which are unique to the profession and are important to the functionality and the successful performance of our goals.
As budding Entrepreneurs, we are committed and self- motivated, with a passion of fire within unlike any other passion. We work long tedious hours; we gladly devote all free time to perfect our goal. All we want is the ability to sit without interruption or distraction to write and design project after project for the completion of our goal.
Discipline and Patience
These two principles are critical to the success of our goals. As New Entrepreneur without academic or specialty training, these principles must be mastered early in our business training. We must take time to learn and to understand the principles within the program we are using in our marketing strategy.
It is natural to be filled with great joy, as we read through the Installation Text, we read with exuberance and confidence believing, that we understand the written application and that we are well able, fully capable to dive straight into programming the text of the strategy.
As we await the outcome of our work, sadly 90% of the time as new entrepreneurs, the outcome is far from our expected results, leaving us in a barren mental state with various miss conceptions and errors:
ERRORS
Miss-understanding the terms Wrong interruption of ideas Incorrect Practices False Assumptions False Expectation Sadly these errors are seldom spoken off in the Industry, or they are casually considered to be a part of the learning curve, the growing pains of success.
For the love of our business, if we know better, we’ll do better; no one will purposely derail their success, spend unnecessary money or delay a successful campaign. This is a pitfall common with home based businesses, which must be discussed to reduces such errors.
MENTORS, TEACHER, INSTRUCTOR
The desire to dive into the application must be balance with proper understanding of the programming procedure, especially since the vast majority of us work alone; without a Mentor, a Teacher or an Instructor to guide our various steps in the lengthy challenging procedure of programming an application. Using my last personal experience, we know that it takes only 1 click and instantly we’re transported to the infinite unknown of la-la-land.
Knowing that we all basically work alone, we consider ourselves BLESSED, when phone or chat support is offered by the company we’re working with.
Hedge Against Errors
To be informed, that unleashed exuberance can halt your success, may be surprising to many. However, being mindful of the characteristics of discipline and patience, once again we can proceed with great exuberance and confidence to satisfactory completion our work, allowing us to get ahead much faster in the completion of our goal.
The Discipline of reviewing, writing and outlining the codes and the instructions, also reduces errors for Entrepreneurs without specialty training in Computer Science.
Professional Marketers
The market is saturated with training tutorials from various Industry gurus. I personally have gone through the training programs of Ann Seig, Jonathan Budd, Amy Poterfield, Mike Dillard, Ryan Deiss, Josh Bartlett, Mike Wolf and Lead Pages to name a few. Plus I cannot begin to count the number of webinars I’ve attended.
A Capture Page or a Landing Page, a Thank You Page, an Op-tin Page or a Sales Page
Universal tools of Internet Marketing used by all businesses, these pages cannot be avoided, neither can they be neglected.
I hope everyone is aware of these pages. Does every-one know the purpose of these pages? Does every-one know how to design these pages? Is every-one using or is in the process of using all of these pages?
I ask these questions because I also am in the process of completing one of these pages in my marketing strategy.
June 20, 2014 I did the full training with Lead Pages Inc. to design all of these pages into my marketing plan, after a brave attempt most of the pages were designed, but to no avail.
The founder Clay Collins has a fantastic service, with a library of services for marketers. In my early stages of Internet Marketing, I found the training to be a very progressive, above my knowledge and skill set in the application of the design. Unfortunately, my effort was without merit and unfruitful.
Starting my business, I was un- aware of the various duties (Web Design, Web Development and Copy Writing) which must be completed before 1 single goal can be accomplished.
Realizing that we cannot be shy or be embarrassed about our performance or the lack of it. Instead, we have to embrace networking with transparency to openly and honestly seek answers to questions in areas of marketing which is of hindrance to our present success.
For this very reason I’m writing this blog, whether I’m associated with you through my WordPress blog or through my various Facebook groups, whether you’re my colleague, whether you’re a successful Marketer as Sherman Stewart, a new beginner as James or a marketer as myself, who’s putting the finishing touches on a new marketing campaign. We are all in different stages of mastering our skill set in Internet Marketing.
Sadly I’m not the only one challenge by the application of On-Line Marketing, SEO Strategies, Programming, Coding, Web Design and Development.
It’s amazing that 99% of us are at the junction of Internet Marketing, without formal training of the application. Amazingly, we all know how explosive the world of technology is, we also know it is the FUEL in our ROCKET to a SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS.
In life to get from point A- Z, by different modes of transportation. We can walk, run, ride, drive, take a train, a boat or a plane.
From the prospective of Internet Marketing and Business, NO ONE want to take the normal mode of transportation, we all want our Blog and our Business to take off like a ROCKET. Meaning we want to establish our-self as a TRUE CONTENDER which PROVIDES RICH CONTENT and GOOD SERVICE; to ENSURE MARKET SHARE and GROWTH in a SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS.
